FOVES Terms of Service

Effective Date: July 16, 2026

1. Agreement to Terms

These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of FOVES (the "Platform," "we," "us," or "our"), an esports tournament platform for organizing and following League of Legends competitions, including single and double elimination brackets, round robin groups, and Arena scoring, with live standings and prize pots.

Understanding these Terms is important because, by accessing or using our Services (whether you're signed in to a FOVES account or not), you're agreeing to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the Platform. If you are entering into these Terms on behalf of a team or organization, you represent that you have the authority to bind that team or organization.

2. Eligibility

You must be at least 18 years of age to create a FOVES Account. If you are under the age requirement, you must have your parent or legal guardian's permission to use a FOVES Account. Please have your parent or legal guardian read these Terms with you.

If you're a parent or legal guardian, and you allow your child to use the Services, then these Terms apply to you and you're responsible for your child's activity on the Services, including any entry fees, payments, or payouts associated with their Account.

Anyone may browse tournament results, brackets, standings, and site news without creating an account. An account is required to create a tournament, apply to a bracket, build a roster, or submit payment.

You are responsible for ensuring your participation in paid tournaments complies with the laws of your local jurisdiction, including any age or regional restrictions on skill based competitions involving entry fees.

3. Accounts

You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your account credentials and for all activity that occurs under your account. You agree to provide accurate registration information and to keep it up to date.

FOVES may suspend or terminate an account for violation of these Terms, fraudulent payment activity, abusive conduct, or any activity that undermines the integrity of a tournament.

4. Roles on the Platform

Organizers create and administer tournaments, including setting the buy in amount, bracket or group format, schedule, and tournament rules. Organizers are responsible for running their tournaments fairly, communicating with participants, and reporting match results accurately.

Team Captains build rosters, apply to open brackets on behalf of their team, and are responsible for submitting the team's entry fee at checkout.

Players are members of a roster added by a team captain. Players may be subject to additional in game conduct rules set by Riot Games or the organizer.

Visitors may browse public tournament pages, results, and news without an account or payment.

FOVES is a platform that facilitates tournament organization and payment processing. FOVES is not the organizer of any individual tournament unless explicitly stated, and is not responsible for an organizer's rules, scheduling decisions, or competitive rulings, except as described in Section 8 (Platform Fee and Responsibilities).

5. Entry Fees and Prize Pool

5.1 Buy In

Organizers may configure a Buy In amount required for a team to enter a tournament. The Buy In amount, currency, and any entry deadlines are set by the organizer and displayed on the tournament page prior to checkout.

5.2 Payment Methods

Entry fees are collected through the Platform's checkout using a supported payment method, which may include credit or debit card, Apple Pay, or Google Pay. Payments are processed by our third party payment processor. FOVES does not store your full card number or payment credentials.

5.3 Prize Pool Distribution

Entry fees collected from all participating teams are pooled into a prize pot for the tournament. Unless an organizer configures different terms disclosed on the tournament page prior to entry, the prize pot is distributed as follows:

  • 40% to the tournament champion
  • 30% to the runner up
  • 20% to the third place finisher
  • 5% to the tournament organizer
  • 5% retained by FOVES as a platform fee

Prize distributions are calculated on the total pooled entry fees for that tournament and are paid out after the tournament concludes and results are finalized, subject to Section 5.5 (Disputes and Result Finalization).

5.4 Payouts

Prize payouts to winning teams and organizer payouts are processed through the Platform's payment infrastructure. Payouts are made to the payment method or payout destination on file for the receiving team captain or organizer. You are responsible for ensuring your payout information is accurate and complete. FOVES is not responsible for payouts sent to incorrect information you provided.

Payouts may be delayed for standard payment processing review, fraud checks, or if a result is under dispute.

If you delete your FOVES Account before a pending payout has been completed, that payout may or may not go through. See Section 12 (Termination) for details.

5.5 Disputes and Result Finalization

Match results are reported by organizers or through the bracket management tools on the Platform. If a result is disputed, the organizer is responsible for reviewing and resolving the dispute according to their tournament rules. FOVES may, at its discretion, place a hold on prize pool payouts while a dispute is pending, but is not obligated to arbitrate competitive disputes between organizers and participants.

5.6 Refunds

Entry fees are generally non-refundable once a tournament's entry period has closed, except:

  • If a tournament is cancelled by the organizer or by FOVES before it begins, entry fees will be refunded to participating teams, less any payment processing fees already incurred, unless otherwise stated on the tournament page.
  • If a team is removed from a tournament due to organizer error rather than a rule violation.

Organizers may set additional refund terms for their tournaments, provided those terms are disclosed on the tournament page prior to checkout and do not conflict with this Section.

5.7 Taxes

You are solely responsible for determining and paying any taxes owed on prize winnings or organizer payouts you receive through FOVES. FOVES may be required to collect tax information or issue tax forms in accordance with applicable law.

5.8 Chargebacks

If you initiate a chargeback or payment dispute with your bank or card provider for an entry fee, instead of contacting FOVES directly, your team may be removed from the tournament and forfeits its roster spot, regardless of the tournament stage the team has reached.

If the chargeback is initiated after prize money tied to that entry fee has already been distributed, FOVES may recover the disputed amount from you by any lawful means, including offsetting it against future payouts owed to you, and may suspend or terminate your Account under Section 7 and Section 12.

A chargeback initiated in bad faith, meaning after you received the tournament services you paid for, is treated as a violation of Section 7 (User Conduct) and may result in legal action under that Section.

If you believe an entry fee was charged in error, contact FOVES at [Insert Contact Email] before filing a chargeback so we can investigate and resolve it directly.

6. Riot Games Integration

FOVES may allow you to connect your Riot Games account for identity verification, roster confirmation, or match data purposes. Your use of Riot Games' services and any connected account is subject to Riot Games' own terms of service and policies, which are separate from these Terms. FOVES is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Riot Games.

7. User Conduct

Most people who access or use our services understand the general rules that keep the internet safe and open. Unfortunately, a small number of people don't respect those rules, so we're describing them here to protect our services and users from abuse. In that spirit, you must not abuse, harm, interfere with, or disrupt our services or systems.

You agree not to:

  • Introduce malware, viruses, or other malicious code to the Platform
  • Spam, hack, or bypass our systems or protective measures
  • Hide or misrepresent who you are in order to violate these Terms
  • Provide services that encourage others to violate these Terms
  • Falsify match results, roster information, or account identity
  • Use bots, smurf accounts, or unauthorized third party software to gain a competitive or financial advantage
  • Attempt to manipulate a tournament outcome for financial gain, including match fixing
  • Circumvent or abuse the payment or payout systems, including chargebacks made in bad faith
  • Harass, threaten, or abuse other users, organizers, or FOVES staff
  • Interfere with the security or normal operation of the Platform

Violation of this Section may result in disqualification from a tournament, forfeiture of prize winnings, account suspension or termination, and forfeiture of any pending payouts tied to the violation.

Depending on the severity of the violation, FOVES reserves the right to pursue legal action against any user, in addition to or instead of the remedies above. This includes conduct such as fraud, payment abuse, match fixing, or harassment, regardless of how minor or severe the underlying situation may appear.

8. Platform Fee and Responsibilities

The 5% platform fee compensates FOVES for providing tournament infrastructure, bracket management, payment processing, and hosting of the Platform. FOVES is responsible for the technical operation of checkout, prize pool calculation, and payout processing as described in Section 5.

FOVES does not guarantee the conduct of organizers, the accuracy of self reported match results, or the outcome of any tournament, and is not a party to the competitive rules set by individual organizers.

9. Intellectual Property

FOVES and its logos, branding, and platform design are the property of FOVES and its licensors. You may not copy, modify, or distribute Platform content except as permitted for normal use of the service.

You retain ownership of content you submit, such as team names, logos, or rosters, but grant FOVES a license to display that content on the Platform in connection with tournaments you participate in or organize.

League of Legends, Riot Games, and related marks are trademarks of Riot Games, Inc.

10. Disclaimers

FOVES is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis. We do not guarantee that the Platform will be uninterrupted, error free, or secure at all times.

Participation in tournaments, including paid tournaments, involves an element of financial risk. FOVES does not guarantee that any team will win a prize, recoup its entry fee, or receive a payout within a particular timeframe.

11. Limitation of Liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, FOVES and its officers, employees, and affiliates will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Platform, including loss of entry fees, prize winnings, or data, except where caused by our gross negligence or willful misconduct.

FOVES's total liability for any claim arising from these Terms or your use of the Platform will not exceed the greater of the platform fees you paid in the twelve months prior to the claim or one hundred dollars.

12. Termination

You may stop using FOVES and close your account at any time. To delete your account, click on your username, click on Profile, and select Delete Account at the bottom of the page.

Account deletion is permanent and cannot be undone. Once your account is deleted, there is no recovery window and FOVES cannot restore your account, roster history, tournament history, or any other account data. If you want to use FOVES again after deleting your account, you must create a new account and start over.

Any earnings that have not been paid out at the time you delete your account may or may not go through, since there is no account to send the funds to. By deleting your account, you accept the risk of losing any pending earnings that have not yet been paid out. If a payout cannot be completed because the account it was owed to has been deleted, FOVES will hold the funds for 90 days from the date the payout was attempted. If the funds remain undeliverable after that period, they revert to FOVES.

FOVES may suspend or terminate your access to the Platform for violation of these Terms, fraudulent activity, or as required by law.

Termination does not relieve you of obligations incurred prior to termination, including outstanding entry fees owed or amounts subject to a pending dispute.

13. Changes to These Terms

FOVES may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated through the Platform or by email prior to taking effect. Continued use of FOVES after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

14. Dispute Resolution and Arbitration

Please read this section carefully. It affects your legal rights, including your right to file a lawsuit in court.

14.1 Informal Resolution First

Before filing a claim against FOVES, you agree to contact us at [Insert Contact Email] and attempt to resolve the dispute informally. Most concerns, including payout and prize pool disputes, can be resolved this way. FOVES will attempt to resolve the dispute with you informally within 60 days of receiving notice.

14.2 Binding Arbitration

If a dispute is not resolved informally within 60 days, you and FOVES agree that any dispute, claim, or controversy arising out of or relating to these Terms or your use of FOVES, including disputes over entry fees, prize pool distributions, or payouts, will be resolved by binding arbitration rather than in court, except as set out in Section 14.4.

Arbitration will be administered by the American Arbitration Association ("AAA") under its Consumer Arbitration Rules, and will be conducted in [Insert City/State] or another mutually agreed location, or by video or phone where permitted by AAA rules. The arbitrator's decision will be final and binding, and judgment on the award may be entered in any court of competent jurisdiction.

14.3 Class Action Waiver

You and FOVES agree that any arbitration or proceeding will be conducted on an individual basis only, and not as a class, consolidated, or representative action. If this class action waiver is found unenforceable as to a particular claim, that claim (and only that claim) will proceed in court rather than arbitration, and the remainder of this Section will still apply to all other claims.

14.4 Exceptions

Either party may bring an individual claim in small claims court instead of arbitration if the claim qualifies. Either party may also seek injunctive or other equitable relief in court to prevent misuse of the Platform, unauthorized access, or infringement of intellectual property rights, without first pursuing informal resolution or arbitration.

14.5 Opting Out

You may opt out of this arbitration agreement by sending written notice to [Insert Contact Email] within 30 days of first agreeing to these Terms. Your notice must include your name, account email, and a clear statement that you wish to opt out of arbitration. If you opt out, disputes will instead be resolved as described in Section 15 (Governing Law).

15. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of [Insert State/Jurisdiction], without regard to its conflict of law principles. To the extent any dispute is not subject to arbitration under Section 14, that dispute will be resolved in the courts located in [Insert Jurisdiction].

16. Contact

Questions about these Terms can be directed to [Insert Contact Email].

This document is a template starting point and has not been reviewed by an attorney. Given that FOVES processes payments and distributes prize money, we strongly recommend having these Terms reviewed by a lawyer familiar with esports, money transmission, and gaming/skill-contest regulations in the jurisdictions where you plan to operate before publishing this on a live site.
